Sara Qamar is a journalist, producer and writer based out of New York City. She tries to travel as much as she can, with an ongoing mental list of where she wants to go next. Though stuck in a permanent state of wander lust, she loves the idea of home.

Sara graduated from Michigan State University with a journalism degree, big dreams and $25,000 of debt.

She enjoys covering a mix of serious, interesting and fun international stories. Sara thinks the best way to humanize people is to make them bigger than the tragedies which affect their lives.

Born and raised in the greater Detroit area, Sara has numerous childhood memories of the North American International Auto Show and a Midwestern propensity to say “pop” instead of soda.

She has worked largely in digital news with NBC News, MSNBC and Al Jazeera English.
